Respiratory Therapist – Acute & Critical Care

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist will deliver comprehensive respiratory care across long‑term care, PICU, NICU, rehabilitation and outpatient settings, ensuring safe, evidence‑based, patient‑centered treatment in line with MH and DOH/DHA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including mechanical ventilation and emergency interventions.
• Perform specialized procedures such as ABG sampling, tracheostomy care, chest physiotherapy and airway clearance therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation goals.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on disease management, equipment use and medication adherence.
• Support quality improvement, regulatory compliance and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in acute, critical care, rehabilitation or respiratory therapy settings.
• Valid DOH/DHA license (or eligibility) and certifications in BLS, ACLS and PALS; RPSGT preferred.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and teamwork abilities with excellent communication skills in English.
