Retail Architect

About the role

The Retail Architect leads design-driven, data-informed retail concepts at House of AMOUAGE, translating brand strategy into distinctive physical environments. The role oversees global retail projects in permanent and temporary formats, from concept development through execution, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery while supporting retail optimisation, local adaptation and business expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design retail projects and fit-for-use local solutions mixing permanent and temporary installations such as pop-up stores, podiums and windows (40%).
• Supervise and coordinate project execution and installation with the instore team across all retail formats, including stores (55%).
• Contribute to in-house developments, retail organisation, systems and processes, and attend training, company events and corporate meetings (5%).
• Develop preliminary schematics, design and layouts based on guidelines or briefs from the instore and sales teams.
• Coach and train on new retail concepts and guide material and technical choices.
• Communicate design direction and changes to external consultants and stakeholders, propose solutions and resolve challenges with local suppliers and agencies.
• Stay up to date on retail trends and competition.

Required profile

• Experience in brand retail disciplines, concept development, strategy, merchandising and technical design, with an end-to-end design approach.
• Ability to translate design principles into varied store locations and formats.
• Strong people and project management skills, with the ability to coach and train.
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and budgets, including contractors and agencies.

Required skills

• Assessment and mastery of architectural and design content (plans, drawings, materials, store regulations).
• Proficiency in graphic and design software is a plus (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Photoshop).
• Ability to sketch layouts, technical details and sketches.
