Riding Engineer - Line Maintenance International

About the role

Etihad is hiring a Riding Engineer for its Line Maintenance International team in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures aircraft airworthiness and operational reliability by supporting line maintenance across outstations and Abu Dhabi, with full authorization coverage and regulatory compliance. The engineer may be rostered to Abu Dhabi Line Maintenance or Etihad Engineering hangars to keep authorizations valid and meet duty-hour requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform riding engineer duties in line with approved maintenance documents, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UAE GCAA regulations and Etihad technical standards.
• Maintain valid licenses, approvals and authorizations, and inform Resource Management and LMI Management of renewal needs at least six months before expiry.
• Deliver high-quality maintenance so aircraft are released safely, on time and in line with the approved operating schedule.
• Resolve defects effectively during line operations using sound technical judgment.
• Maintain aircraft exterior and interior cabin standards in line with Etihad's brand and customer experience expectations.
• Promote modern tools, digital systems and best practices, review industry occurrences and support continuous improvement.
• Support the implementation of Etihad's OGSM framework and contribute to a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• High school certificate or equivalent; technical or engineering diploma/degree preferred.
• Valid aircraft maintenance license (GCAA / EASA Part-66 / ICAO type convertible to GCAA).
• Minimum 2-3 years of certifying experience on at least two of Etihad aircraft types (Level 3) such as Airbus A320/A350/A380 or Boeing 777/787, with valid company authorization.
• Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in a line maintenance environment.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, regulatory awareness, and ability to work independently in an international setting.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of line maintenance and defect rectification.
• Line maintenance authorization and aircraft type ratings.
