Road Freight Commercial Manager - UAE

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding, Freight (DGFF), the Group's air, ocean and road freight specialist, is hiring a Road Freight Commercial Manager in Dubai. The role drives commercial development, pricing effectiveness and profitable growth for the UAE Road Freight product, supports other Gulf countries (Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia) and leads the Road Freight Commercial Center for the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the UAE Road Freight commercial strategy, support strategic customer development and help Sales acquire and retain accounts
• Own the pricing function and RFQ management, including RFQ hit ratio tracking, and lead the design and improvement of automated costing
• Build competitive pricing and commercial strategies for key intra-Gulf and cross-border corridors, and develop new services and trade lanes with Operations and Procurement
• Create tailored road freight solutions such as consolidation, multi-country and milk-run models, and review them for operational feasibility and profitability
• Manage transport vendors and spend with a quantitative scorecard, perform spend analysis and monitor vendor concentration
• Monitor portfolio profitability, margins and volumes, support budgeting and forecasting, and set commercial KPIs
• May give functional guidance, advice or training to less experienced positions
