Room Care Technician

About the role

The Room Care Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of guest rooms at The Meydan Hotel, Dubai. The role ensures that electrical, plumbing, carpentry and fixture issues are resolved promptly, supporting guest satisfaction and the overall upkeep of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest‑room maintenance requests, both breakdowns and planned work.
• Carry out quality room‑care maintenance, completing work orders and preventive‑maintenance tasks.
• Report, follow up and document all major and minor repairs.
• Suggest alternative solutions for recurrent defects in coordination with supervisors.
• Maintain clean and organised work, storage and electrical‑panel areas.
• Secure electrical panels, storage areas and roof accesses.
• Ensure safe working practices for self, colleagues and contractors.
• Provide direction to third‑party contractors working in guest rooms.
• Assist public‑area and other technicians as required.

Required profile

• Certificate of competency in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum 1 year).
• Preferably City & Guilds technician certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 5‑star hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
