About the role
The Commis 1 supports the Rooms Service Production team by preparing special and regular meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This position works closely with chefs and service staff to deliver consistent, high‑standard food service in a hotel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters; manage thawing of frozen items.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, garnish and maintain accurate food logs.
- Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the Chef of excess items and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
- Follow all safety, uniform and company policies; report maintenance needs, accidents or unsafe conditions.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant food‑service or kitchen experience.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
