Room Technician

About the role

The Room Technician provides prompt maintenance support to guests, ensuring all repair requests are addressed efficiently. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of hotel equipment and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Program TVs, manage housekeeping and engineering inventory, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handovers.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing troubleshooting.
• Pneumatic/electronic systems and controls.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall, and wood‑trim repair.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
