School Bus Driver

About the role

The School Bus Driver ensures safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school, following designated routes and strict safety protocols. This role requires attentive driving, effective communication with students, parents, and school staff, and a commitment to maintaining a secure onboard environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the school bus safely, complying with traffic laws and seat‑belt requirements.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules, reporting any delays or deviations.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Maintain order on the bus, enforce rules, and report behavioral concerns.
• Communicate incidents or student welfare issues to the transportation coordinator.
• Be prepared for emergencies, including evacuations and first‑aid response.
• Record daily routes, mileage, and incident reports accurately.
• Provide courteous service to students, parents, and school personnel.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid UAE Commercial Driver’s License (No.5 for mini‑bus/coaster or No.6 for heavy bus) with appropriate endorsements.
• Completion of a school bus driver training program.
• 1‑3 years of driving experience, including at least 1‑2 years as a school bus driver.

Required skills

• Valid commercial driving license with required endorsements.
• Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance knowledge.
