Secondary Mathematics Teacher (A-Level)

About the role

Safa Community School, an award-winning all-through UK curriculum school from FS1 to Year 13 in Dubai, is seeking a dynamic and passionate secondary Mathematics Teacher to join its secondary department. The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range up to GCSE, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics where experience allows; A-Level teaching experience is preferred. The role is part of the school's growth to meet rising student enrolment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and prepare courses and lessons, set and mark work, and assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policy
• Use data to inform teaching, monitor progress and put timely interventions in place
• Prepare students for public examinations, including assessment, recording and reporting, and attend meetings connected with their conduct
• Communicate with parents, write reports, attend Parents' Evenings and Open Evenings, and maintain good order and discipline among students
• Take part in departmental meetings, contribute to departmental policy, schemes of work and teaching methods, and help run the department administratively
• Keep up to date with curriculum innovation and CPD, and work with support teachers and a beginning teacher
• Set work for absent classes and cover for absent colleagues, and take responsibility for a designated area of the curriculum, administration or a project
• Familiarise yourself with the DSIB inspection framework and support UAE initiatives and cultural expectations

Required profile

• Degree in Mathematics or a related subject plus a recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, including GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics; A-Level experience preferred
• Enthusiasm for Mathematics and understanding of assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4 and KS5
• Team player who keeps up to date with subject developments and is willing to develop professionally
