Senior Analyst – Insurance Ratings

About the role

The Financial Services practice at S&P Global delivers forward‑looking credit insights on banks, insurers and other financial institutions. This senior analyst will focus on insurance issuers in Central Asia and the Middle East, supporting credit analysis, risk assessment and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and coach research assistants and rating analysts, creating reusable assets and proposing automation improvements.
• Lead end‑to‑end credit analysis and surveillance for assigned insurance credits, preparing analytical inputs, reconciling metrics and documenting assumptions.
• Translate complex data into clear client‑ready narratives and advise market participants.
• Ensure methodology adherence, data governance and responsible AI use, contributing to automation workflow design.

Required profile

• Demonstrable expertise in insurance industry analysis, especially in the U.K., Middle East and Central Asia.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts and ability to analyse insurance financial statements.
• Excellent credit, financial and risk analysis skills with a focus on forward‑looking risk appetite.
• Willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, and fluency in English (Arabic and Russian preferred).
