Senior CNC Machinist

About the role

The Senior CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, operating and optimizing CNC machines to manufacture, modify and repair oilfield tools and equipment in line with engineering drawings, API specifications and company quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC milling, lathe and turn‑mill machines using Heidenhain, Fanuc or Mazatrol controls.
• Develop and execute CNC programs from engineering drawings and API specifications, including changeovers and fixture selection.
• Inspect machined components with precision measuring instruments and document results.
• Optimize cutting parameters, develop new tooling and fixtures, and lead Kaizen improvement initiatives.
• Support root‑cause analysis of non‑conformances and perform preventive maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, including milling and lathe operations.
• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and BOMs.
• Experience in oilfield equipment manufacturing and knowledge of API rotary, casing and tubing thread requirements.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts and adhere to HSE and quality policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Heidenhain, Fanuc and/or Mazatrol CNC controls.
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling, lathe and turn‑mill operations.
• Expertise in tooling geometry, cutting parameters and fixture setup.
• Use of micrometers and other precision measuring instruments.
