Senior Commodities Internal Auditor (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Commodities Internal Auditor to lead end‑to‑end audit engagements within our Dubai‑based commodities trading operation. You will work closely with senior management and the Audit Committee to ensure robust risk management, control, and governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Own audit engagements from pre‑planning and fieldwork through reporting and wrap‑up.
• Support the annual risk assessment and develop the risk‑based audit plan.
• Report risk exposures, control weaknesses, and governance issues to the Audit Committee and senior management.
• Build audit programs and Risk & Control Matrices covering objectives, key risks, controls, and procedures.
• Test control effectiveness, identify high‑risk areas, and evaluate governance, risk, and control processes.
• Document working papers in the audit management system to professional standards.
• Write clear audit reports with practical recommendations and follow up on management action plans.
• Assess corrective actions through follow‑up audits and track the status of action plans.
• Conduct special reviews and ad‑hoc assignments as directed by the Head of Internal Audit.
• Provide input to internal audit methodology, procedures, and continuous improvement.
• Supervise and develop junior auditors on assigned work.

Required profile

• 8+ years of internal audit experience within a commodities trading environment.
• Relevant university degree.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CA, ACCA, CFE, CPA or CISA.
