Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to join our client’s team in Abu Dhabi. The role is highly hands‑on and engineering‑focused, responsible for designing, operating, optimizing and automating enterprise security controls across a Microsoft‑centric environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity operations, including threat detection, incident response, threat hunting and security posture improvement.
• Manage and optimize Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Cloud, and Office 365.
• Administer Microsoft Sentinel – create analytics rules, KQL queries, workbooks, playbooks and incident workflows.
• Deploy, configure, tune and monitor Wazuh for endpoint monitoring, log analysis and compliance.
• Develop detection logic and response processes aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Conduct security investigations, root‑cause analysis, post‑incident reporting and threat hunting.
• Assess and improve web application security (OWASP Top 10, WAF configuration, vulnerability remediation).
• Strengthen Active Directory security – identity protection, privilege management, hardening and monitoring.
• Review and enhance network security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, VPN and remote access.
• Automate alert triage, enrichment, ticketing, containment and reporting using PowerShell, Python, KQL, APIs, Logic Apps and n8n.
• Support ISO 27001/ISMS activities – risk assessments, control reviews, internal audits and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with IT, cloud, network and application teams to embed security into enterprise processes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional cybersecurity experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with the Microsoft Defender security suite.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM, SOAR, threat hunting, analytics).
• Proven experience deploying and managing Wazuh.
• Deep understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and detection engineering.
• Solid knowledge of web application security, OWASP Top 10 and WAFs.
• Expertise in Active Directory security and identity attack mitigation.
