Senior Engineer, Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Excelerate Energy supports countries in improving energy security through LNG and power infrastructure. The Senior Engineer supports current and future global projects as part of the infrastructure team, working closely with the Infrastructure, Operations and Commercial teams. The role covers both new projects and the engineering needs of existing assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects from feasibility through conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design and EPC phases, ensuring safety and compliance with design rules and standards.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for site investigations, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, including cost estimates, schedules and risks.
• Perform project management duties, including managing external contractors and vendors, and define project scope, schedule and budget.
• Review submittals from consultants, analyse contractual requirements for project controls and scheduling, and oversee quality of subcontracted work.
• Support the Permitting team with environmental and permitting documentation and take part in project risk analysis and remediation.
• Oversee fabrication, fit tests and system integration testing of equipment and installation aids.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Ocean or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in design, project engineering and construction in marine or offshore industries.
• Experience in gas transmission, pipeline (onshore and offshore) design and LNG loading terminal design; LNG or FSRU project experience preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based.

Required skills

• Front-end design from feasibility to FEED, with familiarity with stage-gate project development processes.
• AutoCAD and engineering design software, including P&ID and GA drawings.
• Scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• MS Office Suite.
