Senior Engineer, Occupational Health

About the role

The Senior Engineer, Occupational Health will monitor HSE performance, ensure safe operations, and act as the focal point for HSE management system implementation across plants and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor HSE inspections, compliance, and performance; review reports from technical, project, and quality functions.
• Identify hazardous activities, recommend risk mitigation, and oversee safety equipment and preventive maintenance programs.
• Lead HSE studies such as HAZOP, HAZID, Root Cause Analysis, and risk assessments; audit projects and initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Assess training needs, deliver HSE training, and coordinate evacuation and drilling exercises.
• Analyse incidents, recommend corrective actions, and lead communication during crises.
• Supervise staff, contribute to budget preparation, and implement company and international HSE policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years as a Safety or HSE Engineer.
• Proven experience in HSE project implementation, inspections, training, and HSE systems.

Required skills

• Hands‑on risk assessment studies (TRA, HAZID, HAZOP, PSSR, HSEIA).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27000 standards.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or NIOSH.
• Ability to develop safety manuals, inspection checklists, and emergency response procedures.
