Senior Engineer - SCMS

About the role

This Senior Engineer position covers SCMS (substation control and monitoring systems) within the Engineering department. The engineer prepares automation, control, SCADA and substation control system documentation in line with client specifications, and supports site supervision, inspections, FAT and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prepare automation, control, SCADA and substation control system documentation according to client specifications
• Develop drawings, signal lists, calculations and BOQs
• Coordinate technical submittals and approvals with clients, consultants, vendors and subcontractors
• Support site supervision, inspections, FAT and commissioning to ensure safe and successful project delivery

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation and control engineering, automation or a related discipline
• 5-10 years' experience in automation, control, SCADA or substation control systems within EPC projects
• Strong coordination and communication skills with clients, consultants and suppliers
• Excellent English; Arabic and other languages are an added advantage

Required skills

• SCADA, RTU, PLC and substation control systems
• AutoCAD, MS Office and document control platforms such as Aconex/EDMS
• I know of IEC standards, utility requirements and EPC project execution processes
• Advantageous: additional training in SCADA, PLC systems or substation automation
