Senior Executive Officer, ADGM

About the role

Coinbase is building its regulated presence in the Middle East and needs a senior leader to drive the regional crypto strategy, manage regulatory relationships, and establish the operational foundation for growth in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead the Abu Dhabi team, overseeing the Middle East crypto business and ADGM legal entity while engaging senior regulators, clients, and industry stakeholders.
• Drive development and execution of Coinbase's UAE crypto strategy in collaboration with the Dubai/VARA team.
• Develop operational capacity for tokenization and related opportunities under ADGM.
• Oversee strategic budgeting, resourcing, and governance structures to align with local and global financial frameworks.
• Lead ongoing engagement with ADGM and FSRA, cultivating trusted relationships with senior regulators.

Required profile

• 7+ years of senior-level experience in financial services, including securities.
• Deep understanding of ADGM/FSRA regulatory requirements (best execution, client assets, custody, market conduct, AML).
• Proven track record in operational oversight, policy development, and risk management.
• Ability to influence and align senior, peer, and junior stakeholders regionally and globally.

Required skills

• Regulatory expertise in ADGM/FSRA frameworks.
• AML frameworks and compliance knowledge.
• Crypto/Web3 landscape familiarity, including tokenization, DeFi, and digital asset markets.
