Senior Fire & Life Safety Design & Estimation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fire & Life Safety Design & Estimation Engineer will lead the preparation of cost estimates, technical proposals and engineering designs for fire alarm, emergency lighting and clean‑agent gas suppression systems across DEWA, TAQA and various industrial, utility, power, oil & gas, infrastructure and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take‑offs (MTO).
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and manufacturers.
• Design fire alarm, emergency lighting and gas suppression systems in compliance with DEWA, TAQA, regional Civil Defence, NFPA and IEC codes.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing and system selection.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams to deliver cost‑effective, code‑compliant solutions.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and provide technical support during tender evaluation, procurement and project hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of experience in fire & life safety system design and estimation.
• Proven experience on DEWA, TAQA, industrial, utility, power, oil & gas and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of regional Civil Defence, DEWA, TAQA, NFPA, IEC and other applicable international standards.
