Senior HVAC Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior HVAC Design Engineer will lead the design and development of heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems for tent and fabric shade structures. Based on‑site in Dubai, you will work closely with project managers, structural engineers and other stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient and code‑compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform heat‑load, ventilation‑rate and equipment‑sizing calculations for specialized structures.
• Create HVAC layout drawings and specifications using CAD/BIM tools.
• Coordinate design reviews with multidisciplinary teams and approve technical submittals.
• Support installation teams by providing design clarifications and on‑site guidance.
• Select appropriate equipment, optimise energy efficiency and ensure compliance with local and international codes (e.g., ASHRAE).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals for new projects.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in HVAC design for commercial, industrial or specialised structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in building services or industrial applications.
• Ability to perform precise engineering calculations and understand related plumbing systems (chilled water, condensate drainage, piping layouts).
• Experience using CAD or BIM for HVAC documentation.
• Familiarity with applicable local and international standards such as ASHRAE and mechanical building codes.
• Proven track record of leading projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and meeting multiple deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience with tent structures or fabric architecture is an advantage; professional engineering certifications are beneficial.
