Senior iOS Engineer

About the role

A robotics and AI company is looking for a Senior iOS Developer to take complex applications from idea to shipped product, owning hard technical problems end to end. The role is based in person in Abu Dhabi, within a small, international engineering team, with a flat structure and no layers between you and the decision.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain advanced iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C
• Work with product managers, designers and backend teams to define, design and ship new features
• Keep performance, quality and responsiveness high, and find and fix technical bottlenecks and bugs
• Maintain code quality, organization, scalability and automation, and take part in code reviews
• Share knowledge and help other developers on the team grow
• Implement and maintain RESTful API integrations
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release management
• Stay up to date with mobile development trends and bring good ideas back to the team

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 8 to 10 years of professional iOS development experience
• Comfortable owning hard technical problems end to end, without needing to be told what to do
• Not suited to roles where a spec is handed over and no process or structure is needed; not a remote 9-to-5 role

Required skills

• Strong Swift and Objective-C
• iOS frameworks such as UIKit, CoreData and CoreAnimation
• Offline storage, threading and performance tuning
• RESTful APIs and backend service integration
• Apple design principles and interface guidelines
• Git and modern version control workflows
• Instruments for performance and memory tuning
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
