Senior IT Systems & Network Specialist

About the role

Darkex is looking for a proactive, highly technical Senior IT Systems & Network Specialist to own, secure and optimise its entire IT infrastructure. The role covers everything from bare‑metal server deployment to cloud services, network design and strict remote‑access controls.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and harden Linux and Windows servers, both physical and virtual, and manage patching and automated backups.
• Design, implement and maintain enterprise‑grade Wi‑Fi, VLAN segmentation, SSID access controls and IP/MAC whitelisting.
• Build and monitor secure Remote Desktop Services, site‑to‑site and client‑to‑site VPN solutions with MFA and role‑based access.
• Manage domain registrations, DNS delegations and Cloudflare services including WAF, SSL/TLS, Page Rules and DDoS mitigation.
• Administer Microsoft 365 tenants (Exchange, Entra ID, SharePoint) and optimise licensing costs.
• Implement email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and oversee corporate email security and deliverability.
• Configure edge firewalls, port forwarding and act as primary technical liaison with ISPs, hosting providers and hardware vendors.
• Conduct regular security health checks, vulnerability assessments and maintain up‑to‑date IT documentation.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands‑on systems administration experience in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, segmentation and remote‑access security.
• Proven ability to manage cloud‑based services such as Cloudflare and Microsoft 365.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on security hardening and cost optimisation.
