Senior Material Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Engineer - Material to join our dynamic team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role you will lead and manage all material engineering and quality‑control activities for large‑scale infrastructure projects, ensuring that construction materials meet contract requirements, approved specifications, authority regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review, analysis and approval of material submittals, manufacturers' data, technical specifications and compliance certificates.
• Oversee laboratory and field testing programmes, validate test reports, mix designs and quality certifications.
• Implement and monitor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for construction materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct supplier, manufacturer, batching plant, asphalt plant, precast yard and quarry evaluations and participate in factory inspections.
• Mentor Material Engineers and Inspectors, maintain material approval registers and prepare detailed status reports for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years progressive experience in material engineering and quality management on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven knowledge of UAE authority requirements, FIDIC contracts and QA/QC systems.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, BS and EN standards.
• Expertise in reviewing material submittals, mix designs and laboratory reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document‑management platforms such as Asite.
• Strong background in material compliance, testing protocols and quality assurance frameworks.
