Senior Planning Engineer - Buildings

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role leads planning, scheduling, progress control and time-related claims / EOT support for major infrastructure works, ensuring robust programme management and clear reporting to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor baseline and updated programmes and support the Engineer's consent in line with contract conditions and Parsons practices.
• Develop integrated master schedules and validate resource and schedule feasibility.
• Identify schedule risks and conflicts, maintain planning trackers/logs and feed inputs into the risk register.
• Analyse progress updates to find delays and slippage, and recommend mitigation and recovery plans.
• Perform what-if and schedule impact analysis for changes, variations and potential events.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, programme analysis and milestone-based presentations.
• Assess claims including EOT and disruption using delay analysis methods such as time impact analysis and window analysis, demonstrating concurrent delay where applicable.
• Coordinate planning issues with contractors and stakeholders, attend meetings and prepare minutes, and maintain contemporaneous records.
• Issue delay and slow-performance notifications when required, and lead and mentor planning team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of planning experience, including strong claims/EOT and delay analysis capability.
• Experience in construction supervision of building projects and sound knowledge of underground construction.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong written and spoken English with excellent technical writing skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with planning tools and reporting systems; strong computer literacy.
• Primavera P6 skills and UAE experience.
• Desired: professional planning/scheduling certifications (e.g. PSP, PMI-SP) and forensic planning experience in engineering consultancy/PMC environments.
