Senior Probabilistic Record Linkage Specialist (Remote UAE)

About the role

A fully remote, 100% work-from-home position for a Senior Probabilistic Record Linkage Specialist, based in the United Arab Emirates. The specialist designs, develops and validates methods for identifying and matching records that refer to the same individuals, organisations, entities or events across multiple datasets, using probabilistic matching, statistical inference, data quality techniques and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement probabilistic record linkage frameworks and matching models for large, complex datasets.
• Calculate match probabilities, set thresholds and decision rules, and evaluate similarity measures for names, addresses, dates and identifiers.
• Handle missing values, inconsistent formats and typos, and apply blocking, indexing and candidate-generation techniques.
• Develop entity resolution procedures, validate accuracy with precision, recall and false-match rates, and run clerical review of ambiguous matches.
• Investigate data-quality issues and linkage bias, and apply privacy-preserving controls for sensitive data.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, compliance and business teams, optimise algorithms and pipelines, and build automated quality checks and reproducible validation workflows.
• Prepare technical documentation and present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related quantitative discipline.
• Significant professional experience in record linkage, entity resolution, data matching or advanced data quality analytics.
• Strong understanding of probabilistic matching theory, statistical inference and classification techniques.
• Experience evaluating matching accuracy, confidence scores and threshold selection.
• Understanding of data standardisation, deduplication and master data management; familiarity with privacy and information security.
• Ability to manage complex projects independently in a fully remote setting, with strong analytical reasoning and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or R and relevant statistical libraries.
• Advanced SQL and experience with large, multi-source datasets.
• Knowledge of string similarity, fuzzy matching, blocking and candidate generation.
• Distributed data processing or cloud-based analytical platforms are advantageous.

What we offer

• 100% remote working arrangement.
• Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
• Projects on advanced data integration and entity resolution, professional development and a collaborative, international team environment.
