Senior Procurement Manager - Logistics

About the role

The Logistics Procurement Manager leads strategic sourcing and supplier management for logistics services, both internationally and domestically. The role develops category strategies to optimise total cost while maintaining service levels and regulatory compliance, oversees a team, manages tenders and executes contracts, and delivers consistent cost savings and service improvements. It emphasises risk management, sustainability and collaboration with business units.

Key responsibilities

• Build and refresh logistics category strategies for transport, warehousing, last mile, customs and 3PL/4PL, and run TCO, should-cost and lane-level modelling
• Ensure adherence to policies, Incoterms 2020, trade compliance and data privacy, and set up contingency capacity
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on demand, forecasts and capacity, and optimise network, Incoterms, load consolidation and routing
• Define sourcing waves and project pipelines, and deliver complex RFPs, transitions and network changes on time
• Lead Source-to-Contract processes (market scans, RFI/RFP/eAuctions, evaluation, negotiations) and set up SRM governance with carriers, 3PLs/4PLs and customs brokers
• Maintain clean data on lanes, rate cards and surcharges, and keep contract repositories updated
• Drive performance, innovation and sustainability, including CO2 per shipment and packaging optimisation
• Align with Business Units, Finance and Operations on specs, SLAs and budgets, and create steering committees for major initiatives
• Partner with IT to integrate TMS/WMS and e-procurement systems and enable automated KPI dashboards
• Coach the team in sourcing, analytics and contracts, with succession plans and mandatory training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Business; Master's preferred
• CIPS certification or equivalent highly desirable; APICS CSCP/CLTD or similar logistics certifications advantageous
• 7-10 years of procurement experience with a strong focus on logistics categories
• Proven experience in global freight/3PL sourcing and contract management, including RFx and eAuctions
• Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and customs and trade compliance

Required skills

• Negotiation and contract drafting, including MSAs and SLAs
• Data fluency in Excel/Sheets and visualisation tools such as Power BI/Tableau
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and lead change
• Risk management expertise, including capacity constraints and geopolitical disruptions
• Hands-on experience with TMS/WMS and e-procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba or Coupa
• Advanced analytics skills with financial acumen in TCO, indexation and benchmarking
