Senior Project Engineer - Interior Fit-Out

About the role

Juma Al Majid Holding Group L.L.C. is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for interior fit-out projects in Dubai. The engineer is responsible for the full project management plan, covering scope, procurement, production, design, communication, human resources, cost, time, risk and close out, and supervises on-site execution to deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Examine drawings, assess material requirements and approve and submit accurate material requisitions.
• Manage contractual and commercial issues with clients, contractors and suppliers, and handle enquiries and quotations, checking the technical aspects of vendor quotes.
• Follow up on submittals and organise technical and commercial workshops and meetings with project officials, contractors and suppliers.
• Determine and manage reports to track project progress, and direct the planning department for production and installation programmes.
• Conduct quality checks on works to ensure compliance with client specifications and quality, health and safety regulations.
• Monitor team performance and productivity, coordinate between clients, site, sub-contractors and suppliers, negotiate prices with sub-contractors and suppliers, and scrutinise sub-contractor invoices against work done on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in interior fit-out projects within the UAE/GCC.
• Proven experience managing high-end commercial, hospitality, retail, residential and office fit-out projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements and HSE regulations.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of interior fit-out construction methods, materials and finishes.
• Excellent understanding of architectural, MEP and joinery coordination; ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and project management tools.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 / MS Project is an advantage.
