Senior Project Manager – Pre‑contract Design

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the pre‑contract design phase of infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will act as the central hub for translating client requirements into actionable design strategies while ensuring compliance, budget control, and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all pre‑contract design activities, including scope definition, feasibility studies, and design coordination.
• Analyse design proposals and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules for the design phase, identifying risks and mitigation measures.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors to align design objectives and resolve technical conflicts.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular updates on design progress and milestones.
• Prepare and review contract documents, specifications, and tender packages with precision.
• Conduct cost estimation and value‑engineering analyses to optimise budgets without compromising quality.
• Organise design review meetings, workshops, and presentations with internal and external parties.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design records, meeting minutes, and decision logs.
• Mentor junior team members and drive process improvements in the pre‑contract phase.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing pre‑contract design phases for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder management.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
