Senior QA/QC Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Senior QA/QC Engineer for its infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The role leads and manages all quality assurance and quality control activities so that construction works comply with contract requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, authority regulations and international standards. It also oversees the Project Quality Management System (PQMS) and supervises QA/QC Engineers, Material Engineers and Inspectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of the PQMS and Project Quality Plan, and conduct internal quality audits
• Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans, quality procedures and material submittals, and supervise inspections and testing
• Manage non-conformance reports, site observation reports and corrective action requests, and analyse quality trends
• Coordinate with the Material Engineer on material approvals, testing programmes and laboratory activities, and review test reports and certifications
• Liaise with the client, contractors, authorities, independent laboratories and project teams, and support testing, commissioning and asset handover
• Lead and mentor QA/QC staff, prepare quality dashboards, KPI and audit reports, and report quality performance to the Project Director and Resident Engineer

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent quality management qualification highly preferred
• Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience on major infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years as a Senior QA/QC Engineer or QA/QC Manager
• Proven experience in roads, utilities, drainage, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, electrical, telecom, public realm and transportation infrastructure, and consultancy-based construction supervision
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority quality requirements; testing, commissioning and handover experience highly desirable

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ITPs, method statements and FIDIC contracts
• Quality auditing, laboratory testing, material approvals, NCR management and construction quality control
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Asite and quality/document management systems
• Familiarity with BIM and digital quality management platforms is an advantage
