Senior Quantity Surveyor - Tender/Pre-Contract

About the role

A client of Agile Consultants is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage quantity surveying and pre-contract commercial activities for building and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The salary is based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for building and infrastructure projects
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and other project documentation
• Prepare tender documentation and raise Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Conduct site visits during the tendering stage to assess project conditions
• Prepare subcontractor and supplier enquiry packages and Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed unit rate build-ups
• Evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to achieve competitive pricing
• Prepare comparison sheets of quotations and tender documents against project specifications and approved supplier lists

Required profile

• 8-15 years of experience in quantity surveying and pre-contract commercial activities
• Mandatory hands-on tendering and pre-contract experience
• Strong experience in high-rise buildings, CMW/PGC/NGC projects, building construction and infrastructure
• Mandatory UAE/GCC construction industry experience

Required skills

• Proficiency in quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation
• Experience with tender documents, RFQs, cost estimates and unit rate build-ups
• Knowledge of subcontractor and supplier quotation evaluation and commercial negotiations
• Ability to review technical drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills
