Senior Safety Officer (Fully Remote, UAE)

About the role

A fully remote, full-time Senior Safety Officer position in the UAE. The role oversees safety procedures, identifies workplace hazards, supports risk management and promotes a strong safety culture. Candidates must be able to work independently remotely while coordinating with on-site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor workplace health and safety policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with UAE occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification; investigate incidents and near misses and track corrective actions.
• Recommend preventive measures and coordinate safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and awareness training; monitor PPE use.
• Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, incident logs, risk registers and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures and incident response planning.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, Facilities and management, track safety KPIs and monitor regulatory updates.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in workplace safety, safety inspections, risk management or HSE operations.
• Strong knowledge of hazard identification, incident investigation, inspections and safety compliance.
• Familiarity with UAE health and safety requirements; NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
• Preparation of safety reports, maintenance of compliance records and implementation of corrective actions.
