Senior Staff Nurse - Cardiology Clinic & General OPD

About the role

American Hospital Dubai is hiring a Senior Staff Nurse for its Cardiology Clinic and General Outpatient Department (OPD). The nurse provides age-specific, patient-centred care, coordinates care plans and works within a multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and continuous critical care assessment of patients and families, involving them and other providers in the care plan
• Coordinate and plan critical care and clinical pathways, prioritise care and revise care plans as needed; initiate transfer plans
• Document all relevant data in the medical record and maintain supplies and equipment
• Handle and administer narcotic, controlled and semi-controlled drugs safely, following policies and procedures
• Assist staff nurses and care assistants in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, and advise nursing staff on patients' enquiries
• Take part in JCI mandatory education, staff meetings, unit committees, quality improvement activities and ongoing learning
• Perform cardiac procedures such as defibrillation, cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing, and support ECMO and EHAC therapy patients

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (at least 3 years full-time) or exemption for UAE nationals with a UAE or non-UAE university degree
• Valid license to practice in the home country and/or country of last employment
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of recent post-graduate experience in Cardiology Nursing or Heart Centre; previous Team Leader or Senior Registered Nurse experience is an advantage
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential; BLS certification is also required
