Senior System Admin Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior System Admin Engineer to lead the administration and optimisation of critical applications and services for a leading real‑estate client. Based in Sharjah, you will work closely with the client’s IT teams and external vendors to ensure high availability, security and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of system administrators, set goals, conduct evaluations and foster a collaborative culture.
• Manage and resolve incidents affecting applications and services, coordinating with relevant teams to minimise business impact.
• Analyse root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Plan, test, document and execute changes to applications and services while mitigating risks.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and third‑party providers, overseeing support, maintenance and contractual compliance.
• Monitor performance and utilisation of systems, identify optimisation opportunities and apply performance‑tuning measures.
• Ensure all systems comply with security policies, data‑privacy regulations and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a team of system administrators in a complex, multi‑vendor environment.
• Strong incident‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
• Ability to plan and execute change‑management processes safely.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix).
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and network infrastructure.
• Performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Security and compliance best practices.
