Specialist ENT Physician

About the role

SEHA Clinics in Al Ain is recruiting a Specialist ENT Physician. The post holder shares the Consultant Physician's responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care, acts as an example of clinical excellence in the division, and contributes to the supervision and training of junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage administrative and managerial duties: support departmental and divisional policies, take part in performance management, peer review and productivity reviews, ensure adequate medical coverage, attend divisional meetings, and respond to untoward incidents
• Diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of the Consultant Physician, following best-practice standards for the specialty
• Supervise junior medical staff, lead ward rounds, review investigations regularly and modify treatment as needed
• Document clinical information accurately and promptly, liaise with other specialties, and take part in multi-disciplinary meetings
• Prepare patients for procedures, obtain informed consent, accept clinically appropriate referrals and provide out-of-hours on-call coverage on rotation
• Communicate clinical information to patients and families with their consent, promote teamwork and support quality improvement and audit
• Promote clinical research and publication, and supervise and instruct junior medical staff

Required profile

• Tier 1: no additional experience after board certification
• Tier 2: at least 2 years of clinical experience after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• Tier 3: at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Specialist after qualification in an internationally accredited institute
• UAE nationals: no additional experience after board certification
• UAE and non-UAE nationals enrolled in HAAD-accredited residency programmes: no experience required after board certification
