Specialist Medical Oncologist

About the role

The Specialist Medical Oncologist will diagnose, treat and manage patients with solid tumours and haematological malignancies in a multidisciplinary cancer‑care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed malignancies and develop appropriate treatment plans based on histopathology, molecular testing, imaging and staging information.
• Provide systemic anti‑cancer therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal/endocrine therapy in line with international oncology guidelines.
• Monitor treatment response, toxicity and disease progression, and manage adverse effects.
• Coordinate care with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, genetics, palliative‑care and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumour board meetings and discuss diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options with patients and families.
• Maintain accurate medical records, ensure safe prescribing and administration of anti‑cancer medications, and collaborate with oncology nurses and clinical pharmacists.
• Refer eligible patients to clinical trials or specialised treatments and contribute to quality‑improvement, research and continuing medical education activities.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience in medical oncology.
