Specialist Neurosurgeon in Al Ain

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Specialist Neurosurgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The role involves diagnosing, operating on, and providing follow‑up care for patients with complex brain, spine and peripheral nervous system disorders within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of neurosurgical conditions, including brain tumours, traumatic brain and spinal injuries, degenerative spine disorders, hydrocephalus, intracranial haemorrhage, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral nerve disorders and disc disease.
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures, both cranial and spinal.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as CT, MRI, angiography and neurophysiological studies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and deliver comprehensive pre‑operative and post‑operative care.
• Participate in emergency and trauma call rotations.
• Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, orthopaedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to clinical audits, quality‑improvement projects and continuing medical education.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Completed specialist training in Neurosurgery.
• Minimum three years of post‑specialisation experience in a reputable hospital.
• Eligibility for a valid DOH Specialist Licence (or ability to obtain one).
• Western education or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) is preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical decision‑making and teamwork skills.
