Specialist Psychiatrist – School Project

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Specialist Psychiatrist to join our Abu Dhabi hospital’s School Project. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents within an educational setting, ensuring high standards of mental health support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient needs.
• Diagnose mental health disorders using DSM‑5 criteria.
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, adjusting treatment as necessary.
• Provide psychotherapy, including individual and group therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Participate in professional development and stay updated on psychiatric advances.
• Engage in community outreach to promote mental health awareness.

Required profile

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.
• Completed residency in psychiatry.
• Board certification in psychiatry.
• Valid medical license to practice in the UAE.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in psychiatric evaluation techniques.
• Experience with DSM‑5 diagnostic criteria.
• Ability to prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
• Competence in delivering individual and group psychotherapy.
