Staff Nurse – Burn Unit

About the role

The Burn Unit Nurse provides specialized, compassionate nursing care to patients with burn injuries at Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammad Medical City. The role focuses on monitoring patient conditions, vital signs, and wound‑healing progress while ensuring all care follows hospital policies and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to burn patients in accordance with hospital standards.
• Monitor vital signs, wound healing, and overall patient condition.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and strict infection‑control procedures.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary medical team to implement patient‑centered care plans.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with safety and quality guidelines.
• Identify significant changes in patient status, use early‑warning scoring tools, and escalate care as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an Associate degree from Canada/USA with successful completion of the NCLEX‑RN or Canadian licensing exam.
• Valid DOH license or eligibility.
• Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience post‑qualification.
• Ability to navigate the Malaffi health‑information system accurately.
• Knowledge of evidence‑based practice and infection‑control standards.
