Staff Nurse – ICU

About the role

The ICU Staff Nurse provides specialized, high‑quality care to critically ill adult patients in a fast‑paced hospital environment. You will apply advanced clinical knowledge and technical expertise to support patients with life‑threatening conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care for patients with trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure, burns and multi‑organ dysfunction.
• Perform advanced monitoring, emergency response, mechanical ventilation, vasopressor and dialysis therapies.
• Manage complex post‑operative care and operate specialized equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, feeding tubes, catheters and central lines.
• Collaborate with the Manager, Charge Nurse and Clinical Resource Nurse to identify learning needs and develop professional development plans.
• Participate in self‑ and peer‑evaluation, reflective practice, and clinical research initiatives.
• Maintain a professional portfolio and obtain required Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) units in line with DOH regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an Associate degree from Canada or the USA.
• Successful completion of the national licensing exam (NCLEX‑RN for the USA or the Canadian licensing exam).
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in an ICU or similar critical‑care setting.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to clinical competency standards.
