Staff Nurse – Interventional Radiography

About the role

The Staff Nurse – Interventional Radiography provides specialised patient care within the interventional radiology suite, supporting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while upholding the organisation’s mission, vision and values.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care before, during and after interventional radiology procedures.
• Monitor patients under sedation, manage contrast media administration and respond to adverse reactions.
• Perform vascular access, angiography, angioplasty, embolisation, and biopsy procedures safely.
• Coordinate discharge planning and post‑procedure recovery, ensuring continuity of care.
• Supervise and precept junior staff, practical nurses, midwives and student nurses.
• Participate in performance reviews, promote collaborative practice and act as a role model for professional conduct.

Required profile

• Valid Department of Health (DOH) RN licence.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as an Interventional Radiology Nurse.
• Ability to assess, stabilise and monitor patients throughout procedures.
• Strong critical‑thinking, conflict‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
