Staff Nurse – University Health Services

About the role

The Staff Nurse leads the delivery of comprehensive clinical care within the University Health Services, working closely with physicians and the broader medical team to ensure high‑quality, inclusive healthcare for the AUS community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and treat patients with acute or chronic conditions, administer medications, vaccines, and provide wound care as directed.
• Perform diagnostic tests, monitor vital signs, and assist physicians during clinical procedures.
• Provide 24‑hour on‑call emergency response, stabilize patients, and coordinate ambulance transfers when needed.
• Educate students and staff on preventive care, nutrition, chronic‑disease management and health awareness.
• Collaborate with campus mental‑health services and external providers to arrange referrals and ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in the EMR system and generate statistical reports.
• Support infection‑control, medical‑waste management and quality‑improvement initiatives in line with university policies.
• Participate in campus events to deliver on‑site medical support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) nursing license.
• ACLS certification.
• Minimum four years of experience in outpatient and emergency settings.
• Fluent English (Arabic advantageous).
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• UAE driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience using an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
