STEAM Tutor/Mentor for 5‑Year‑Old

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic STEAM Tutor/Mentor to work with our 5‑year‑old son. The role focuses on sparking curiosity and guiding hands‑on projects, beginning with a child‑friendly submarine model.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead 1–2 weekly in‑person sessions (4 pm‑6 pm) that blend play with STEM learning.
• Introduce core concepts in physics, engineering, robotics, electronics, chemistry, biology and design thinking through experiments and building activities.
• Guide the child through the complete engineering cycle for a simple submarine: research, design, material selection, construction, testing and iteration.
• Develop a progressive series of projects aligned with the child’s evolving interests.

Required profile

• Background as an engineer, scientist, robotics specialist, STEM educator, maker, or a university student/graduate in a related field.
• Passion for teaching young children through hands‑on experimentation.
• Patience, creativity and the ability to translate complex ideas into age‑appropriate activities.
