Store Assistant

About the role

The Store Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory records and supporting production teams with timely material issuance. The role requires strict adherence to health, safety and environmental standards while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Count, inspect and document all incoming and outgoing goods.
• Issue materials to the shop floor promptly and record every transaction in the ERP system.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and guarantee 100% inventory accuracy between physical stock and ERP data.
• Maintain optimal stock levels based on consumption rates and lead times to prevent shortages.
• Submit consumable ordering requests to the purchasing department and control paper usage.
• Carry out daily routine tasks, follow quality, H&S and environmental best practices, and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Operate handling equipment safely, including trolleys, tables, and overhead cranes.

Required profile

• Ability to follow and promote HSE policies and report incidents promptly.
• Physical capability to handle heavy materials and use lifting equipment safely.
• Attention to detail for accurate stock documentation.
• Willingness to wear required PPE and comply with safety procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory tracking.
• Overhead crane operation.
• Material handling and use of trolleys/tables.
• Knowledge of MSDS, safe work instructions and emergency procedures.
