Structural Inspector

About the role

The Structural Inspector will conduct daily on‑site inspections of structural works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and relevant codes. This role supports quality assurance and safe delivery of large commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, cores and structural steel against project drawings, method statements and material submittals.
• Verify construction sequences, formwork, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, curing and steel erection.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve non‑conformities and technical issues.
• Monitor progress, report quality and workmanship, and witness testing such as slump, cube, rebar and NDT.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, photographs and daily reports using paper and digital systems (e.g., Aconex, Procore).

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of site inspection experience, including at least 3 years on shopping malls or large commercial buildings.
• Strong knowledge of concrete and steel construction practices, sequencing and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with international codes (ACI, BS, Eurocodes) and local authority requirements.

Required skills

• Use of inspection tools and field instruments.
• Digital reporting platforms such as Aconex and Procore.
• Knowledge of ACI, BS and Eurocode standards.
• QA/QC and safety certification (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is a plus.
