Supervisor - RM 2, 3 Shift Electrical & Automation

About the role

The supervisor leads the shift electrical maintenance team at the Rolling Mills to keep equipment running smoothly. The role covers scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance, major repairs and troubleshooting during unscheduled breakdowns, across shifts 2 and 3.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily electrical maintenance work orders and prioritize them to draw up daily work plans
• Supervise and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs
• Guide, monitor and train the team so they deliver the required service level
• Provide hands-on technical support for major breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Prepare daily management reports on previous-day activities and weekly reviews of outstanding jobs and trends
• Assist the Head of Section with spare parts audits, annual budgeting data and the National Development Program for UAE trainees
• Follow the ESI Integrated Management System for health, safety and environment
• Meet production staff daily to agree shutdown schedules and feedback on service standards
• Help with plant cleanliness, expansions, startup efforts, spare parts procurement, training and commissioning

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Technical Diploma
• 6 years of electrical maintenance experience for degree holders, 10 years for diploma holders, in a rolling mill (bar/wire rod/HSM) preferred
• Experience working in a Middle-East country and with health and safety compliance systems
• English

Required skills

• Fully conversant with the re-bar/wire rod rolling process
• In-depth knowledge of Level 1 automation systems and familiarity with Level 2 automation systems for rolling mills
• Maintenance of medium voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, drives and motors
• Proficiency with basic office software (word, email, spreadsheets)
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP, and ability to instruct others
