System Security Engineer

About the role

A System Security Engineer is needed in Abu Dhabi to design, deploy, configure and maintain security systems such as video surveillance, access control, public address and intercom. The role works closely with the IT Security and Networking teams to protect data and keep the systems secure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain security systems (video surveillance, access control, public address, intercom) ensuring high availability, scalability and performance.
• Administer, maintain and support the installation of these systems on Windows and Linux environments.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to keep all security systems running optimally.
• Create technical documentation including processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and training modules.
• Keep security systems updated and install security, cumulative and firmware updates.
• Maintain a detailed system inventory with software and firmware versions, build numbers and revision dates.
• Assist the Operations and Project team in planning security system requirements, upgrades, migrations and device and license orders.
• Track annual maintenance contracts, end-of-life and end-of-support dates, product lifecycles, software license subscriptions and support contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or graduation from a technical school.
• At least 5 years of IT support technical experience, including at least 3 years as a security system engineer (video surveillance, access control, public address, intercom).
• Experience deploying, installing and maintaining enterprise video surveillance systems (Milestone, Genetec, Axxonsoft, Axis, etc.).
• Experience deploying, installing and maintaining enterprise access control systems (Dormakaba, Salto, Lenel, Morpho, Suprema, HID).
• Experience deploying, installing and maintaining public address and intercom systems (Bosch, Commend, Zenitel, Aiphone, etc.).

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of server operating systems and server hardware.
• Strong understanding of IP-based security platforms, network infrastructure and TCP/IP.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and network hardware, software and processes.
