Tax and Statutory Compliance Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Tax and Statutory Compliance, supports the Finance Department in ensuring that the organisation meets all accounting, reporting, tax and regulatory obligations. The role involves assisting with tax strategy development, preparing statutory financial statements and coordinating audits.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of account reconciliations, financial statements and reporting processes.
• Prepare annual financial statements under IFRS and KPMG reporting standards (OS) for each trade licence.
• Lead the calculation, audit and renewal of the firm’s In‑Country Value (ICV) certification.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal control policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, address audit findings and maintain documentation of accounting policies.
• Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, monitor tax law changes and address indirect tax queries on cross‑border transactions.
• Support tax planning initiatives, evaluate tax implications of business decisions and identify tax‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare tax provisions for financial reporting and maintain accurate tax records for audits.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or a related field.
• Professional experience in tax compliance, statutory reporting and audit coordination.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, local tax regulations and statutory filing requirements.
• Ability to analyse complex tax issues and communicate findings to senior management.
