Teacher - Islamic Studies (AY27/28)

About the role

Aldar Education, the leading education group in Abu Dhabi, is recruiting a Teacher of Islamic Studies for its schools starting the 2027/28 academic year. The school offers inclusive, play-based learning across a wide range of curricula, from nursery through adult education, and supports over 38,000 students in 31 schools.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire students to succeed, covering the curriculum and catering to the whole ability range in the class
• Plan engaging sessions, organise classroom provision and learning resources, and create displays that encourage a positive learning environment
• Observe and assess children, mark work according to the school marking policy, and use assessment data to set targets and inform planning and intervention
• Provide constructive feedback to pupils and to parents and careers at parent-teacher conferences and other meetings
• Manage the class effectively, follow the school's behaviour policy, and act as a positive role model
• Work with colleagues, curriculum support staff and professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists where needed
• Take part in curriculum action groups, school events and activities, and run a weekly ECA each term
• Communicate with parents and carers using school systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Previous experience working with students for whom Arabic is not their first language
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
• Enthusiasm for teaching, professionalism, respect for all members of the school community, and a solution-focused attitude
