Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Teaching Assistant at Smart Vision School supports students' learning, wellbeing and safety throughout the school day. Working closely with teachers during school hours, the TA helps deliver classroom learning, assists students with diverse needs and contributes to an inclusive environment in line with KHDA regulations and safeguarding expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities, and give individual or small-group support to students who need extra help
• Support Students of Determination, ELL learners and students with diverse learning needs
• Help prepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources, and encourage students to build confidence, independence and positive learning habits
• Supervise students during class activities, break times and school events when required
• Promote positive behaviour, respect and inclusion, and support students' social and emotional wellbeing
• Report any concerns about student welfare or safeguarding to the appropriate staff member
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, follow safeguarding and safety policies, and attend training and meetings where required

Required profile

• Essential: experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
• Understanding of child safety and wellbeing responsibilities
• Desirable: previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or LSA, experience supporting Students of Determination or ELL learners, and experience in UAE schools
