Teaching Assistant

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Ras Al Khaimah is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support teachers inside and outside the classroom. The role helps students understand and complete their assignments while keeping the classroom safe, productive and clean. It is part of the administration department.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the class schedule with the teacher and keep a record of children's attendance, passing forms to and from the office.
• Handle class displays, games and visual materials such as bulletin boards, and reinforce class and school rules and student behaviour.
• Document students' progress and communicate with the Academic Quality Controller when needed; file notes in reading folders and check them each morning.
• Keep the classroom safe and clean, and support the teacher during lessons by keeping children focused.
• Help correct children's work, prepare and clean up after art classes, and supervise snack or lunch times.
• Teach hygiene manners, help children change clothes if needed, and supervise outdoor play, nap or quiet time.
• Accompany students to class in the morning, listen to them, read their word cards, and help with school events, trips and activities.
• Perform other related tasks as delegated by the School Management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject or equivalent.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour and ethical conduct, with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Meets employment requirements, including education and certification standards, and passes criminal background and reference checks.
