Tech Lead, Android Core Product

About the role

This strategic Android engineering position will lead the development of a fast‑growing mobile product used by millions worldwide. Based in the United Arab Emirates, you will own major features from concept through release while collaborating closely with Product, Design, QA and other engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of major Android features, defining, building, testing and releasing high‑quality experiences.
• Shape the future direction of the Android engineering team through technical leadership and architectural decisions.
• Monitor and improve reliability metrics, proactively identifying technical risks.
• Review pull requests, provide constructive feedback and uphold engineering standards.
• Respond to critical incidents, drive resolutions and manage feature releases with nightly builds for QA.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record in Android application development.
• Deep familiarity with Android components, MVVM, Clean Architecture and production‑grade Android apps.
• Proactive mindset, strong communication skills and a user‑oriented approach to problem solving.

Required skills

• Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Jetpack Navigation, Dagger 2, Room, Jetpack Compose, custom views, Canvas and Paint.
• Background services, music player services, Android animations, JUnit testing, MVVM, Clean Architecture.
